The Design Process

Stage I - The Purpose of the Website

The first stage in the design process is to decide what you are trying to achieve with your website. Do you want just a simple webpage like this? Or do you need a full-blown e-commerce site? Are you fairly happy with your existing site and just want to bolt-on additional features?

Stage II - Pages Required & Structure of the Website

Next, we decide what pages you will require to address this purpose. Most sites have a fairly standard set of pages:- Home Page, Products, Services, Jobs, Company History etc, but every company is different. You may have your own views, if not we can advise you.

Stage III - The Look

The next stage is to design "The Look" for the website. This is just a standard page layout for your website. It is essential to provide a uniform layout and method of navigating the site, in order to make visitors to your site feel comfortable.

At this stage it is very useful to have copies of your Company logos, although we can scan these ourselves if required.

Your input will be vital here and we will not move on to the next stage until you are 100% happy.

Stage IV - Design of the Website

Once this page layout is agreed, the rest of the design process can be undertaken with minimal contact with yourselves, although we will refer to you from time-to-time to ensure that we are on the right track.

At this point it is very useful to have all brochures, site photographs, details of company history etc. A check sheet will be provided.

Stage V - Demonstration of the Website

We will show you what we have done and demonstrate the workings of the website. If any changes are required these can usually be accommodated relatively easily.

Stage VI - Publishing the Website

Once you are happy with your new website, we will publish the site onto the Internet and provide training on how to update it.

If you have elected to have the site available internally as an "Intranet", then it is at this stage that the installation and training will be carried out. You may like to work with the website for a short period before publishing it to the Internet.

Stage VII - Marketing the Website

Once the website has been published it needs to be marketed, just like you would if you had a new telephone hotline number. We will add your website to various popular search engines and will suggest other ways to increase website traffic.

What is Website Maintenance?

Website maintenance includes revising, editing, or otherwise changing existing web pages to keep your website up to date. The periodic addition of new web pages is also part of maintenance services. Websites are not intended to be static. The value of a website is the ability to maintain current information online at a reasonable cost. We assume that you will want to revise some or all of your web pages over time, as well as adding additional web pages according to your business needs. To assist you in maintaining current information online, we offer several options for website maintenance. If you believe you will be making regular changes to your website over time, you can save money by purchasing a website maintenance contract.

A maintenance contract is for a one year term, and is non-refundable. The monthly charge for maintenance is based on the size of your website at the time the contract is signed. A maintenance contract allows you to update an online newsletter, to highlight different services on a rotating basis, or to promote time sensitive programs, services or workshops. Under our maintenance contract, you are entitled to make an unlimited number of text revisions to existing web pages. This includes redesigning web pages, or adding, deleting or editing graphics on the web pages. You can also add new web pages to your website, while the maintenance contract is in force. The new web pages will be included in the maintenance contract, unless you exceed the maximum number of pages for your contract. In that case, you must amend the contract provisions to include the new web pages.
