Pictures are easy right?... Well they should be, however.... Roughly 75% of the web site developments that we do, do not have sufficient images, and/or photos to enhance the quality of the web site. Your web site makes a statement about the quality of your business and when poor images are used, it makes a negative impact on your visitors.
Should We Take Our Own
Pictures? We have received every type of photo from our clients, good and bad alike. The good photos have two things in common; excellent subject matter and clarity. Likewise the poor photos are the opposite, mostly old photos, or were taken with a cheap digital camera and are too poor of quality to use. Good pictures are hard to come by and require much advance planning as to the statement the pictures are intended to make. And as important as the subject matter is the quality of the equipment being used. Low end digital cameras take harsh looking photos with low color and clarity, while the higher end digital and 35mm (or better) will do just fine. To sum it up; if you've got a cheap camera and haven't taken any pictures worth framing, you should leave your web site photography to a professional.
